Whether you own a home or live in rented accommodation, it is hugely important that you or your landlord adopts energy efficient measures in your property as no-one wants to live in a home which is going to cost a fortune to heat. This means investing in double or triple glazing and replacing any old front or back doors.
A fresh coat of paint in the main rooms of the house is also an easy and cost-effective way of giving a room a whole new look. When choosing a colour…

Modifying a property can affect a landlord insurance policy and possibly invalidate it if an insurer is not given prior notice ahead of any proposed changes.
Chartered Insurance Broker at Swinton Commercial Insurance, Brian Greenfield F.C.I.I, says advising insurers of changes is vital if landlords want to avoid any future complications:

With this in mind, we would strongly advise property owners keep their insurer informed of any improvements they are making, as not doing so could invalidate their insurance policy. Having the correct landlord insurance can also prevent any nasty surprises when making future claims.”
This issue has become particularly prevalent in the past…

A conservatory presents you with many different opportunities as far as utilising the space is concerned, but to be able to fully enjoy it you need to furnish it properly. Adding your existing sofa to a conservatory will simply not work as it won’t be able to cope with the temperature inside and will soon start to lose its appearance.
Better instead to install specially-designed conservatory furniture. But choosing your preferred type of conservatory furniture needs to be done with great care as conservatories need to look good as well as feel good.
