UPVc Wood Grain Mahogany & Light Oak.
UPVc is the most common material used for conservatories. It is mainly seen in white but is also available in various wood grain styles. This type of material is highly insulated and benefits from being low in maintenance.
window & doors
Double glazed units can be made in 'Low E' glass and roofing can be done in glass or low heat guard polycarbonate for even more insulation.

Before you begin:
  • Do you need planning permission?
Apart from the Isle of Man and Scotland, in most cases you will not need planning permission. We do however recommend that in all cases you check with your local planning office.
  • The major reasons for needing planning permission are:
  • If any part of the conservatory will stand closer to any road than the existing house does, unless it is more than 20 metres from the road boundary.
  • If taken together with any other extensions to the house, the cubic content of the original house will have been increased by more than 70m3 or 15% whichever is larger (reduces for terraced housing).
  • You live in a conservation area.
  • If any part of the conservatory comes within 2 metres of your property boundary and is more than 4 metres above ground.
  • Your house is a listed building.
  • If the overall height of the conservatory will be greater than the overall height of the existing building (relevant to bungalow properties).
